Ajwain Seeds are also known as Ajowan Seeds or Carom Seeds, and is very similar to its western relatives Parsley, Cumin and Dill.
The high concentration of essential oils in Ajwain Seeds (primarily thymol), give an aroma and flavor resembling Thyme and Oregano but with stronger flavour notes in recipes.
Ajwain seeds are wonderful to flavour roast vegetables, curry and fish and work beautifully when a spice a little stronger with a broader flavour than Thyme is called for in rich foods. Really lovely flavours.
